NEW ROAD Construction Management Company, Inc. was presented with a Project Achievement Award for 2019 by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Mid-Atlantic Chapter:  K-12 Construction over $20 Million, for Haddonfield Public Schools Referendum Program.

In January of 2016, Haddonfield Public Schools passed a referendum for a $35.2 million construction program.  The District’s four schools all have significant areas that were originally constructed in the 1920’s.  The construction program included masonry and steel structural repairs, roofing replacements, window replacements, HVAC system upgrades, the demolition and reconstruction of one wing of the District’s High School, stadium repairs, resurfacing of the High School track, selective abatement, and site work associated with the renovations and repairs. Work also included replacement of the District’s phone, paging, and clock systems.  Construction work on the phone, paging and clock systems began in the Summer of 2016, all other work began in the Summer of 2017 and was completed in December of 2018.  Work at all the schools was performed throughout the school year (or in some cases, school years).  At one of the elementary schools, masonry walls were completely removed (from foundations to roofs) in blocks of four classrooms at a time (two first floor and two second floor rooms). This work was largely performed while the remainder of the school was occupied.  The project was completed on time, within budget, and free of claims.

The Project Achievement Awards were presented at the CMAA Awards Banquet on June 12, 2019 at The Union League of Philadelphia. We would like to thank Timothy McFerren, Director of Facilities for joining us at the banquet and accepting this award.
